Categories and groups
Create, rename, archive, and set some categories apart.
You get here from the Add tab or from the settings, through the “Manage categories” link.
Create, rename, archive
Creating a category takes one field and one button. Renaming happens in place, by editing the text in the list and confirming with the Enter key.
A category you no longer use is archived rather than deleted. It disappears from the entry lists, moves to the bottom of the screen greyed out, and the time already counted on it stays intact in the statistics. An archived category is restored in one gesture.
Colour is not a setting. It follows the creation rank inside the team, in a palette of fifteen shades, which guarantees that a colour means the same thing on every screen and for everybody.
Groups

Below it, the Groups section lets you set categories apart. The time counted on them leaves the team statistics and is read in a panel of its own.
There is no group creation screen: you pick a category, you write a group name, and the group exists. It vanishes by itself when no category carries it any more. It is not an object to manage, it is a label.
The form suggests existing groups as you type, which avoids creating a second one over a forgotten capital letter.
Using groups
A group is justified when a subject would distort the reading of everything else. Caring for a relative, or leisure time with a child. Worth measuring, but not comparable with the laundry.
This feature is not useful for everybody. If you really want to keep measurements apart from one another (a building project running alongside daily life, say), making two teams may be more interesting.
